Church membership allows you to connect with a community of believers and not only enjoy the benefits of that community, but also to learn the responsibility you have as a member to invest your God-given gifts in others. At times of bereavement and hardship as well as joy and celebration, your church family is there to support you and rejoice with you as you meet the challenges of everyday life. As you take up your position in this local body of believers, you have access to fellowship, teaching, and Godly counsel. Most importantly, you have the opportunity to expand your capacity by growing and developing your relationship with the Lord fellow church members and the community at large. With ministries designed to meet the needs of thoughtful individuals and growing families, we believe we have a place for you here at Emmanuel Fellowship (EFBC)! You will find that our leadership and all those who work and volunteer here are ready to assist you in finding that place.

Membership Classes

Membership Classes are offered on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month immediately following the first service, as well as periodically on other dates announced in our bulletin to accommodate a variety of schedules. This series of four classes will let you know what we as a church community have to offer you and how you can become a part of the EFBC family. Once you complete the process, you will receive a certificate during morning worship. We can't wait to welcome you!

Water Baptism

Candidates for Water Baptism attend a class explaining the significances of this New Testament ordinance prior to the ceremony. Church Membership is not a requirement to be a participant but Water Baptism, whether at EFBC or a previous church, is necessary for Membership. Baptisms take place on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Inform a volunteer in the Welcome Center of your interest and we will get the process started.

Weddings

A Wedding Packet may be obtained by contacting the Pastor's Assistant. The packet contains information to begin your marriage counseling and simplify your wedding planning. Couples may use the church for their ceremony. However, premarital counseling is necessary before Pastor will perform the ceremony.

Baby Dedication

Baby Dedication is a public declaration of the parent’s commitment to God to raise their children according to God's Word, allowing God's Covenant to be established in their family. Please contact the Pastor's Assistant to schedule this special moment in the life of your family.

Visitation to the Sick or Shut-In

When our members, or their family members, are in a hospital, nursing home or shut-in situation, our Visitation Team can send someone to pray with and bring comfort to them. Requests should be made by the person in need, or their immediate family if the one in need is unable to do so. A trained team member located in that area will be sent as quickly as possible to minister to them. Please contact at (214) 398-1119 or send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Bereavement

It is our desire to be available to our EFBC family at the most sensitive time in their lives: at the loss of a loved one. We make ourselves available to console, assist in making arrangements and in whatever way we can to help you through this difficult time. Please email or call the church office to inform us of the passing of a member or family member.

Bible Study

Discipleship is a pillar of church membership because without discipleship you cannot grow and develop a mature walk with God. Wednesday night Bible Study takes you deeper into the Word of God through teaching, discussion and reflection. We invite you out every Wednesday at 7:00pm. Also, frequently visit the Bible Study Resources page for lessons and other online discipleship supports.

Prayer Requests/Praise Reports

At EFBC we do life together. Share what God is doing in you and through you by sharing a Praise Report with us. Or, let us know when we can go to God together in prayer when you need direction, comfort and encouragement. We want to hear from you.

Volunteer Workers

If you would like to become a vital and operative part of this local body, you can stop at the Welcome Center and speak to a representative for more information. Once you know what you would like to do, fill out a Worker’s Application. If you have not yet begun taking New Members Class, you can sign up for those as well. New Members Class is the best way to learn about EFBC and all that church membership has to offer.

Ministry Fair

Twice a year, Ministry Teams gather to introduce you to the volunteer opportunities available at EFBC. Spring and fall fair dates are announced in the bulletin and will be posted on the online calendar. We look forward to helping you discover how God will use you to bless others in through this ministry!
